Sinfall Zombie Horde

Zombie Horde is a dynamic event mod for DayZ that periodically selects a valid player and unleashes waves of infected around them. The event is designed to create high-pressure survival moments, force movement, and reward players who survive and actually fight back.

Instead of being a static spawn system, Zombie Horde runs as a configurable server event with warning phases, target selection logic, wave spawning, completion rules, rewards, and full profile-based configuration.

What the mod does

- Periodically starts a horde event after a random server-configured delay
- Sends a warning notification before the event begins
- Selects a valid target player based on fair rotation logic
- Spawns waves of infected around the chosen player while the event is active
- Ends the event if the target player dies
- Completes the event if the target player survives the full event duration
- Requires the target player to kill a configurable percentage of event zombies to earn the reward
- Supports random reward selection with configurable min, max, and probability settings
- Spawns a reward container near the player on successful completion
- Can launch fireworks on completion
- Excludes players in configured safe zones from being chosen
- Excludes players near configured territory flags from being chosen
- Includes solo-player fairness protection so one player online is not always selected
- Supports separated config files for general settings, rewards, and zombie types

Features

Dynamic horde event system
The mod runs timed zombie horde events automatically on the server. Events start after a configurable delay and move through a warning phase before becoming active.

Day/Night Settings
Wether you want to run the Horde specifically at night, day or either. You can configure this along with times.

Warning notifications
Players receive advance warning that a horde event is about to begin. Countdown notifications can also be configured before the event starts.

Fair target selection
The mod chooses from valid alive players and avoids repeatedly selecting the same player back-to-back by using least-recently-targeted logic.

Solo-player fairness protection
When only one valid player is online, the mod can apply a configurable chance and cooldown system so that the same solo player is not always selected every single cycle.

Safe zone support
Players inside configured safe zones are excluded from target selection, preventing the event from choosing players in protected areas.

Territory flag protection
Players within a configurable distance of configured territory flag classnames can be excluded from target selection. This supports generic flag classname checks and optional IsKindOf matching for derived territory flag classes.

Vehicle exclusion
Players inside vehicles can optionally be excluded from target selection.

Wave-based zombie spawning
During the event, infected spawn in repeated waves around the target player at configurable intervals and distances.

Population scaling
Zombie count can scale with the number of online players so the event stays threatening on larger servers.

Aggro spawn behavior
When enabled, infected spawn closer, face the target player immediately, and receive several post-spawn facing refreshes to improve target acquisition.

Target death fail condition
If the chosen player dies during the active event, the event fails immediately.

Completion requirement
Surviving is not enough by itself. The chosen player must also kill a configurable percentage of the event zombies to qualify for the reward.

Reward system
On successful completion, the mod can spawn a SeaChest or other configured reward container near the player and fill it with configured loot.

Random rewards
The reward system supports random reward logic with configurable minimum and maximum reward counts, plus per-item probability values so server owners can control how generous or brutal the payout is.

Fireworks reward celebration
The mod can spawn and ignite a FireworksLauncher on successful completion for a visible reward celebration.

Tracked event infected
The mod tracks infected spawned by the event so cleanup, kill requirement progress, and reward logic are tied specifically to event zombies.

Automatic cleanup
Event-spawned infected can optionally be cleaned up at the end of the event to prevent world buildup.

Separated profile config files
The mod supports separate files in the profile folder for:
- GeneralSettings.json
- Rewards.json
- ZombieTypes.json

Auto-updating config generation
Missing config values are automatically added on load without overwriting settings that are already set by the server owner.

Configurable notifications
Notification titles, messages, territory protection skip messages, solo-protection lucky messages, and icon path are configurable through the settings files.

Server-side logging
The mod logs event scheduling, wave spawns, failures, completions, and reward activity for easier balancing and troubleshooting.

Why use Zombie Horde
