BVB Building Fortification
This is the first version of the mod; it will continue to evolve over time.
Turn a shelter into a defended base, or build a timber perimeter from the ground up. BVB Building Fortification adds doors, window shutters, barricades, fortified walls, gates and a watchtower to DayZ 1.30.
Start with a kit and build each structure in stages using familiar DayZ materials. Add timber panels, sheet metal reinforcement, platforms and access routes where you need them.
Build your fortification
[*]Single and double doors with opening inspection shutters.
[*]Square and rectangular windows with opening shutters.
[*]Square and rectangular fixed barricades.
[*]Fort Wall with a platform, optional metal reinforcement and defensive stakes.
[*]Choose a ladder or a staircase for your Fort Wall platform.
[*]Fort Gate with double leaves, an upper palisade and a walkway.
[*]Four-level Watchtower with staircases, a lookout, an optional annex and sheet metal roofs.
Construction and placement
Craft a kit with 1 Rope + 2 Short Sticks, select the structure you want and place it. Add the materials required for each stage to continue building.
Free placement, optional snapping and advanced adjustments let you position each piece. Inside markers help you orient your construction.
[*]B — enable or disable snapping.
[*]N — enable or disable advanced placement.
[*]In free placement, the mouse wheel rotates the piece. When a snap point is engaged, it cycles through the available connections.
[*]Advanced placement adds position, height, rotation and fine adjustments. Controls can be rebound in the game settings.
Locks and raiding
Single doors, double doors and Fort Gates support vanilla combination locks, the vanilla electronic Code Lock and the Workshop Code Lock when that mod is installed.
Only Single Door, Double Door and Fort Gate are raidable in this version. Their metal reinforcement protects the timber underneath until destroyed. Posts and frames remain after the door leaves are destroyed. Raid damage respects the server's base-damage setting.
Fort Walls, barricades, windows and the Watchtower are protected from raid damage.
The Workshop Code Lock mod is optional and is needed only to use its locks. Its content is not included in this mod. Load only one version of BVB Building Fortification at a time.
